December, 2010

December flew by, I can't believe that 2010 is over. Ethan is doing amazing, he is getting SO big and he is on the move! He army crawls through the house; we have reached the point where you can't leave him somewhere and expect him to be there if you walk away! He keeps us on our toes, but it is so much fun. We are starting to give him more table food, a process that I find incredibly stressful because I am horrified of choking. So far, Ethan has had mashed sweet potatoes and white potatoes, whole wheat noodles, bread, gerber puffs, and banana. He seems to like everything, it just takes a few tries to get him used to the new textures and he seems to be learning to chew (although its difficult since he still has no teeth). I think practice will definately make perfect, and hopefully help mommy to relax a bit.

Part 1 of Christmas was so wonderful, we went to Bushia and Grandpa Jablonski's house and spent the day with family, we had 4 babies all under 1 year old, it was chaos......but the best Christmas yet. Ethan of course got lots of wonderful presents, but I think his favorite thing was the wrapping paper?

Christmas part 2 takes place this weekend in Iowa where we will get to see more family and Ethan will get even more spoiled, we are looking forward to it. Adam and I will be bringing Lucy on this trip and we realized that there was no hope of us fitting Ethan, Lucy, and ALLLL of Ethan's stuff, along with Christmas presents, SO......we rented a mini van. I bet in my next post I will be telling you all that we purchased a mini van, YIKES!

December was a GREAT month for pictures of our little man....check him out below

Ethan's First Cookie

Ethan saw his cousin Lorraine eating a yummie cookie so he asked me to buy him some. He wasn't quite sure of the taste at first, but then he loved it and made a huge mess; Lucy was sneaking around waiting for him to drop it....he eventually did of course!

Ethan Crawls......Almost

Ethan has been working hard to get crawling! He is not quite there yet, but he has figured out to get from point A to point B, whatever it takes. The video is a bit long, but he is so cute we couldn't shorten it anymore! Check him out....

Happy Thanksgiving

This year we spent Thanksgiving in Iowa with Adam's family. We had a wonderful time seeing everyone and everyone was so happy to see Ethan; they couldn't belive how much he had grown. We had a really busy weekend with all of the travel and family visits, but Ethan was amazing! We left on Wednesday evening at bedtime and Ethan was quiet the whole ride, we didn't stop at all and made it there safely in about 4 hours. He was a little curious of his surroundings so that night he didn't sleep well, but the rest of the trip he was a happy boy for all of his grandparents to enjoy. Unfortunately, due to lack of teeth Ethan didn't get to enjoy all of the AMAZING food, but I think he is already looking forward to next year's meal!

Happy Birthday Daddy

Adam turned 29 on November 18. I had to work on Adam's birthday so I made him his requested Hawaiian pizza and salad on the 17th and we opened presents that day too. Ethan helped daddy open his presents; he got The Lion King and Jungle Book from Ethan and they can't wait to watch them together! We discovered that Ethan is incredibly entertained by paper and boxes so Christmas should be cheap this year!

Happy Halloween

TRICK OR TREAT, SMELL MY FEET, GIVE ME SOMETHING GOOD TO EAT.....

Ethan dressed up as a little monster for his first Halloween. Unfortunately, we won't be able to take him out or go to Auntie Michelle and Uncle Teddy's for a party because he is sick. Our poor little man has had a fever since yesterday and is just not himself. Ethan has had a rough couple of weeks with being sick; two weeks ago was his first trip to the emergency room. Poor guy had a touch of the flu and he broke out in a weird rash all over. He seemed to be getting better, and now this? We are going to stay in today and give out candy and get some sleep; hopefully he will be back to normal soon! Anyway, we couldn't let Halloween pass without some pictures in his monster suit, check him out.....

A few more pictures.....

Ethan has been getting bored with his "baby" toys, so we gave him an early Christmas present. Ready for winter...
Daddy dressed Ethan today, notice how well the colors work together.

6 Months Old

Ethan is officially 6 months old; today was his 6 month doctor visit. They started out taking his height (27 1/2 inches) and weight (18 pounds 13 ounces); he is in the 75th percentile for both. The doctor was very pleased with his progress both physically and developmentally. He is a pro at rolling every which way and he can now get up on all fours; he just hasn't figured out that he needs to lift his head and he doesn't quite know how to get crawling? Our instructions were to increase his solids each day; he will now start getting 4-6oz of solids three times per day and we will continue to follow that with some formula. This means he will be moving on to the Gerber Stage 2 foods. There is a lot more variety which I know Ethan will LOVE....he is a really great eater! She also said that he can have some juice once a day as well as some water. We have already given Ethan a starter cup to learn to use. It is still a little heavy for him to hold on his own, but he is getting the idea. She told us that in the coming months we can look forward to him starting to sit up on his own, crawl, pull himself up, and we might see some teeth soon. Check out our little 6 month old....

Similac Recall

Recently I had noticed that Ethan wasn't eating very well; he hadn't been wanting his formula and was very fussy for about 2 weeks. On September 22 we found out that his formula was recalled due to beetles, GROSS! He is fine, thank goodness, and now that the problem has been figured out he is back to his normal self and, so far, seems to be eating better. He now eats "solids" three times a day: cereal for breakfast, fruit for lunch, and a veggie for dinner. I think his favorite are bananas and pears, but he has also tried prunes, which he surprisingly loved, peaches, apples, and carrots - next on the agenda is peas. We have the 6-month doctor's appointment on October 8 so we will see what she has to say about out little man.

That is all for now, check out these amazing videos....

Ethan LOVES his Exersaucer, but the boy is a little NUTS!!!!

I can't believe it but I think he is going to be on the move very soon, YIKES...
