9 Month Update

WOW, can you believe Ethan is 9 1/2 months old already? I can't, the time is literally flying by and he is growing so fast! I know it has been a while since we wrote an update, but once you hear about our month you will see that Ethan has kept us busy! We had Ethan's 9 month doctor's appointment about 2 weeks ago and Ethan is developing just as we would hope; he weighed in at 20 pounds 11.5 ounces (50th percentile) and was 29 inches (75th percentile). We were told to continue working on adding more table food to Ethan's diet and continue to let him explore his surroundings. The boy is officially on the move. We have graduated from the "wounded soldier" army crawl and are now sprint crawling all throughout the house; whoever is on Ethan patrol should not plan to sit down because he will have you on your feet chasing him from room to room. He actually thinks it's hilarious if you pretend to chase him, he will take off and then peek over his shoulder to see if you are coming...then he giggles. He has also mastered climbing; he pulls himself up to standing with anything that is the right height. Unfortunately, this includes the coffee table, the dining room chairs, the kitchen chairs, Lucy's water and food bowls, and the couches. At daycare he was pulling up on Bella's bowls and ended up taking a swim in her water bowl; lucky mommy packed a change of clothes! He is also getting braver and will just let go to see what happens. Luckily, he learned quickly to lower himself on to his butt when he wants to get down so we haven't had too many injuries, YET! We had another big milestone this month.....Ethan's first tooth. Our little boy finally has a tooth coming in, sadly, it has been accompanied by a few rough nights of crying from the sore gums. We have been trying to incorporate some new foods into his diet, as instructed; we have had some success and some failures. He really likes noodles with butter, cream of chicken soup with rice, and cottage cheese; he really hates milk, hard boiled egg, and real bananas; we will have to keep working this. Another fun thing this month was Ethan's 1st hair cut with Aunt "B". January 26 I took Ethan to get his first real hair cut, he wore the cape and got an adorable big boy hair cut, he didn't cry at all and was a perfect angel. Check out how big this kid is getting.....

Ethan had a great time seeing his older cousins and the rest of his family in Iowa, of course, he was spoiled even more. Everyone was so surprised at how much he had changed since their last visit. Check out the fun....
